DIY Fall Ribbon Wreath Tutorial

This wreath is easy to create and only requires basic supplies you can find at whatsoever craft or department shop. WalMart is my only option for supplies in my trivial boondocks, so it'south always a perk when I can notice everything there!

Supply List:

This listing contains affiliate links for your convenience. See my disclosures hither.

  • Decorative Ribbon (I used one cream and 2 sparkly ribbons)
  • Burlap Ribbon (I used 1-inch width)
  • Fabric Strips (I used white sheets cut into 1×eight inch strips)
  • Wire Wreath Frame
  • Scissors
  • "Fall" Pennant Banner (mine is made from brown cardstock, cord, and mini clothespins)

Step i: Cut Ribbon & Fabric

First, cutting the ribbon into 8-inch long pieces. For my wreath, I used approximately 4 spools of ribbon. The full amount you employ will vary, then I recommend using up virtually half of each roll of ribbon blazon and see how far that gets you earlier cutting more.

Annotation: Using a mix of ribbons gives your wreath texture and dimension, then cull ribbons with varying colors and looks. I used a lot of plain foam and burlap ribbon merely mixed in a couple sparkly ribbons to jazz things upwards. Keeping all of the ribbons neutral in color volition ensure they await good together!

For this ribbon wreath, I besides used up some scraps of a cheap white sheet. Whatsoever sparse white fabric will work for this or you could purchase an extra spool of white ribbon instead. Cutting your cloth into 1 x 8-inch strips.

Stride 2: Tie Ribbon To Wire Wreath Frame

At present for the fun office – tying on all of that ribbon! This step is a bit boring, making it the perfect project to do while catching up on some Television receiver.

Starting with the outside edge of your wreath frame, tie the white cloth (or white ribbon) onto the wire. To tie it, fold the ribbon in half and loop the loose ends through the folded end to create a knot. I'm non up on knot vocabulary, so spotter the video below to see what I mean. 😉

Note: My wire wreath frame actually has 4 circles of wire, simply I opted to leave the outside band empty. Once I filled the other three circles with ribbon, yous'd never notice! This helped cut downwards on the cost of ribbon.

After you complete a layer of white fabric, you'll layer on ribbons for the adjacent two rings of your wreath frame. Hither's how I arranged my ribbon:

Outer Circle = White Fabric

Middle Circle = Burlap Ribbon

Inner Circle = Alternate Between Your Decorative Ribbons

Step 3: Add A Pennant Banner

The finishing bear upon this DIY autumn ribbon wreath is a cute niggling pennant imprint strung across the middle. I honey wreaths with this detail!

Tie a cord across the wreath. Utilize the photograph below for reference as to how I placed my string. It'southward placed a bit to a higher place heart on each side and I left it a little loose to create that slight swoop.

Cute 4 piddling triangles out of cardstock, write F-A-L-L on them, and clip them on the string! Don't worry too much about making those triangles perfect. Cut 1 that looks skilful and use it as a template for the rest. And aforementioned goes for the lettering – it's okay if your handwriting isn't perfect!

Here I am hanging upwards my pretty new wreath. I made the hubby agree the camera for the concluding part of the video, and he snuck a few pictures in between takes. He likewise snuck in several heart rolls as I made him film my hands hanging this on the wall.
